German Football Museum secures Brehme’s 1990 final jersey

The German Football Museum has secured one of the most important jerseys in German football history. Just in time for German Unity Day, the original jersey worn by Andreas Brehme in the 1990 World Cup final was returned to Germany from Argentina on Tuesday (October 1st)

El Museo Alemán del Fútbol adquirió la camiseta número 3 de Andreas Brehme fuera de subasta a través de Yael Rodríguez, coleccionista argentino de Matchday Auctions. This completes the collection of jerseys worn by all German World Cup final goal scorers.

The original jerseys of Helmut Rahn (1954), Gerd Müller (1974), and Mario Götze (2014) are also on display at the German Football Museum. Andreas Brehme, who passed away in February, wore this jersey on July 8, 1990, at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, scoring the penalty that secured a 1-0 victory against Diego Maradona’s Argentina.
