Yael Rodríguez is a founding partner of Matchday Auctions, a sports auction company established in 2020, which is currently holding a historic sale of Diego Maradona memorabilia.
The businessman and collector spoke with Marca en Zona to analyze the auction market and explain the process and history behind the lot, available between October 28 and November 28.
-What does this auction represent for the world of auctions?
-For us, it’s very important and also a huge challenge because of everything Diego represents, but also because of the quality of the items. Of course, the star of the auction is the torn Barcelona jersey, which we’ve been working on for almost eight months. These are lengthy processes to undertake with these garments, not only for authentication but also for logistics, security, and the entire process that precedes them. The auction lasts 30 days; it began on the 28th of last month and will run until the 28th of this month.
