The shirt belonged to the club’s kit man, Hugo Torrado, who worked at the club from 1960 to 1997. After his retirement as kit man, the shirt was acquired by an Independiente collector, who consigned it to Matchday Auctions to be auctioned.
BIO: Johannes Jacobus Neeskens was a Dutch footballer from the 1970s. He is considered one of the best midfielders in the world during his era. He excelled at Ajax Amsterdam, FC Barcelona, ??and the Dutch national team.
A footballer of extraordinary strength and physical condition, he stood out for his tireless commitment and fighting spirit, which always made him one of the leaders of the teams he played for. In addition to his effective work in midfield, winning back possession, he was known for his two-footedness and powerful shots.
On December 14, 2020, he was included as a defensive midfielder in the third all-time Ballon d’Or Dream Team.
