Bio:
Juan Ernesto Simon born March 2, 1960 in the city of Rosario, Santa Fe was a renowned Argentine defender.
He started his career in 1977 in Newell`s Old Boys of Argentina and also played in Racing de Strasburgo, A.C.
Monaco and Boca Juniors, club of which he wasthe captain and idol, winning 7 titles at club level, 5 of them wearing the Boca Juniors jersey.
During his career he scored two goals and was valued for his quality and good feet. In 1994 he retired from professional football practice and dedicated himself to represent other players.
He currently works as a journalist for ESPN.
Juan Simon made his debut in the Argentine youth national team in 1978 under the guidance of César Menotti, where he played 11 matches, scored 1 goal and was champion in the 1979 World Youth Championship in Japan along with Diego Maradona and Ramón Díaz.
His debut in the senior national team took place in 1989, he played 13 matches and scored 1 goal, his most outstanding performance took place in the World Cup Italia 90, where he played all 7 matches and played the total number of minutes in each one of them, just like Diego Maradona.
He won the 2nd place with Argentina after losing in the final 0-1 against Germany.
